Scrooge's Nephew

Every Christmas I watch a version of "A Christmas Carol" and always reflect on the quote, "I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year." Every year I say I'll live by this quote and act more how I do during December. By mid-January I usually forget about this resolution until the holidays come along again. I simply want to live with that "keep Christmas in my heart all the year" attitude on a daily basis for the rest of my life.

The character to me that epitomizes this attitude is Scrooge's nephew. I want to be like Scrooge's nephew. Undefensive. Nonjudgmental. Unconditionally loving. Forgiving. Completely comfortable in his skin. Guided by his values and his heart. He invites his Uncle Scrooge to Christmas dinner every year with no resentment in his heart and open arms despite how horrible his uncle has been to him throughout the years. His actions are being love. His actions are keeping Christmas in his heart throughout the year. That's how I want to live.
